Dust Collector Safety Upgrade

Fonterra Co-operative Ltd | Clandeboye, South Canterbury, New Zealand

Electrical and automation installation for a new dust collector system in a hazardous electrical environment.

EIS was engaged for this project to replace an existing dust collector system with a more environmentally friendly option.

EIS was contracted to undertake the electrical installation, automation, electrical engineering and commissioning.

The replacement dust collector required the installation of a new MCC, PLC cabinet and various VSD’s for motor control, equipment instrumentation, instrument air supplies, general and emergency lighting.

EIS designed and developed all the installation drawings, implant the communication protocols, developed and then integrated all of the PLC and HMI code associated with the old dust collector system on-site without interference or disruption to the plant operation, while keeping with the client’s requirements and production schedules.

Contract value: $711k

EIS were involved from the design stage through to installation, commissioning, and handover. The installation was well planned, completed on time, within budget and to a high level of quality. The team were easy to work with, flexible and co-operative. Adjusting plans as required to ensure the project was delivered on time.
